Elections

Township Day:  March 12, 2019

Every year Minnesota townships are required to have an "Annual Town Meeting." It is held the second Tuesday of March. It is a true form of direct democracy, encouraging all members of the community to participate.

On Tuesday March 12, 2019 Star Lake Township will conduct its Annual Election and Annual Meeting. One Supervisor position will be open to election; this will be for a three-year term (2019 - 2022). The filing period for this position will be open from Jan. 1 to Jan. 15, 2019. Applications for this filing are available from the Town Clerk.

More information on the 2019 Annual Town Meeting will be published in the Annual Newsletter and the township website in February. For now, please mark your calendar for this important town event on 3/12/19.

We should all be proud of the 81.4% voter turn-out that Star Lake Township registered. Of 307 registered voters in the township, 250 voted either in person or by absentee ballots. This most likely is a record high for a mid-term election.

Our loyal and dedicated cadre of election judges once again administered a friendly, professional and secure polling environment. We owe these fine people a profound thank you for a job well done!

Our election judges for the 2018 Primary and General Elections were Jeff Michaelson, Mary Pfeffer, Alma Ronningen, Ron Gilbertson, Lee Mindemann, Carole Nodsle, Kathy Torklidson, Keith Aune, Brenda Ebanks and Tammy Ziegler.
